once and for all, why shell out money for this app when there is a better and free option around?

vienna is very cool, very mac-like and you can even see your articles within it's window since it makes use of apple's webkit. no need for a browser at all.

newsfire sucks and the author's arrogance sucks even more. don't pay him for being an ass.

??? no response from developer - badtzjunk

the developer has also not emailed or posted back on the blog comments, about various questions about newsfire: including the inability to import other RSS feeds from other programs (NNW).

i just downloaded nnw to see if vienna can import your nnw subscriptions - it does! simply export from nnw and go to the file menu in vienna and select import. it couldnt be easier.

now switch to vienna! :)

You can import feeds from NetNewsWire into Newsfire, but it's a pain. It's slow if you have a reasonable amount of feeds with no visual cue that it's processing the feeds. I exported from NNW with groups and Newsfire just imported the feeds themselves.
