They are soo many of those maintenance softwares, many of them are even freeware, among which an excellent one is Onyx.
Surprise: the developper and publisher of Onyx is the same than maintenance!
What is the scope?
(I like and use the excellent Onyx)

Hi,... because lot of users use OnyX only for the maintenance... Then no hidden functions to enable/disable, no display logs and misc info... etc. Just manintenance and cleaning!
But OnyX is not dead, Maintenance is not a replacement... ;-))

C*cktail and Mac Pilot come to mind as well. But you have to pay for those and they are well worth paying for.(Odd that the word c*ck is censored in my comment considering that it is a software title and not meant to be degoratory).
