How about fixing the lack of support for Intel-based Macs?
I'm not a developer, so I am not going to mis-speak to how easy or difficult this task is, but it's a fairly important one considering that all Macs in production now are running these chips.
It's a shame that Adobe has taken such an attitude towards this. It gives bad vibes to long standing customers (I'm a user of Photoshop since version 2). I know they have a plan for implementation in the next release, but that will be too late in my opinion.

You all need to realize the SIZE of a project it is to create a Universal Binary. It's not a simply throw a switch operation and Photoshop isn't a small 20mb shareware application.I can't believe people are upset about this. I run CS2 on an Intel MacBookPro as well as a PowerPC G5.... no problems on either. Yes, the increased speed when Photoshop is a UB will be great, but it's absolutely usable now and no one should be complaining.

Apple released the Intel based computers about a year sooner than they had originally said they would. Also there are technical difficulties that just take time with an app as complex as Photoshop. With all the work to do to redo this and ALL of thier other Apps I can't blame them for wanting and NEEDING to release it with thier next full release of CS3.Thursday, August 17 2006 @ 03:40 AM PDT

Remember how it took for Adobe to release the Mac OS X version of their product line. It was over a year or so!Thursday, August 17 2006 @ 04:35 AM PDT

It might be sooner than we think now that the Mac Pro is out. Also Quark has the UB version of XPress out, so Adobe needs to get ID up and running on the new iron soon!Thursday, August 17 2006 @ 05:32 AM PDT
It's technical, not arrogance - RobertHammen
It has nothing to do with being arrogant or wanting to charge customers for the upgrade. It has everything to do with:a) having to transition one's development environment from Metroworks to xCode
b) xCode not being robust enough to handle a project as big as Photoshop
c) the massive amount of time required to QA a new release
It just makes sense to migrate the development environment (something Adobe started doing after WWDC 2005) and port the next version over to xCode.

Sadly, Adobe is the New Microsoft. Their sucess has breeded arrogance. They are waiting to update for Intel so that they can do this in the next major point release. Why? So they can charge for it.
Admitedly I am sure that migrating PShop is a complex task, but still. Many other companies are doing it without passing along large upgrade costs. But you can bet that Adobe and Microsoft will charge big $.
After all, how else will they pay for their "activation" code?
