I couldn't get it to upgrade from 10.7 to 10.8. It said it was already up to date. So I scoured VT reviews and saw all the issues people were describing, and read how the customer support was lacking. I went directly to Smith Micro's web site and saw that it was indeed a free update for me from .7 to .8, tried the updated feature again, no dice. So I left a message through the customer support page. I had an automated response instantly, and a reply from a technician within a couple hours telling me that they had not finished putting it up on their update servers. They suggested I wait one day and try again. I waited until the end of the day and tried again. It worked flawlessly. Great customer support and great product. I've used it since 9.X and it has never crashed on me. When I first started using it (and the reason I bought it) I was faxing several times a day. Now it is just occasionally. I do think it's a bit overpriced, but what are you going to do? If you need something, you fork over the dough.
