Those who are saying OmniWeb is a good browser but feel its price is too high should Think Different. The money is not merely for the browser. It is to help ensure a good Mac developer stays healthy and in business. The OmniGroup makes several popular applications. It would be a loss to the Mac community if they were ever lost. Pay to support the developer, not merely to "buy" a single application. That's how I often view my own purchases. As people say have already said here, OW really is good. Feel good about supporting the Mac community, especially a developer that is strongly Mac. My advice? Pay 'em.

Pay them just because they are a mac developer!!! That is the craziest idea i've heard. OmniGroup is a business, just like any other business they must earn their customer's loyalty and cash. You like the product, great, buy it because it's good not because their business plan is to develop apps for mac platform.
If you feel like donating money to a mac developer, why not support the opoen source Camino project to ensure that they continue to develop a great browser for the mac.

I agree. Supporting a developer with worthy products is a good reason to buy software. I've purchased many shareware products over the years simply because I wanted to "support" the developer. When it comes to shareware vs. opensource applications what's the difference, really. Both need to eat, both are people, both have bills and both deserve to be rewarded for the time of their lives they donate to making software that we use.

Obviously nobody is going to be dumb enought to send money to developers who make bad software and I'm not suggesting that I do.

I support developers; whether shareware, commercial OR open source who add to the art of software on the Mac platform and Omnigroup is certainly one of those.
