Listing bugs cost me hundreds of dollars

Feedback Type:  Review

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 6-12 months

Recommend Product: NO

Product has terrible listing bugs that only seem to be getting worse with each additional revision.

Garagesale uses "templates" for making all of your listing look the same.

Be warned! If you put critical information in your templates (like links to your other products), you will likely lose out on many sales!

Garagesale has a nasty habit of
1. Deleting your custom templates
2. Just not applying your templates -- even after you set them over and over (and even though the "preview" shows them styled with the template)
3. Not applying *any* template even if you delete all their chintzy included templates and leave only one to choose from!

Crashes on a pretty regular basis, has a horrible management system, and is often quite slow.

User interface is amateur and eventually make a mockery of any workflow you might have.

It came to the point that I ended up spending less time *writing my own lister* than I was spending keeping up with all the snafus and bugs in this software.

Beware all the glowing reviews -- these are either lightweight users, or new users. I list hundreds of items, and I though this software would be the answer to my listing needs.

It is certainly not!

Only for lightweight or amateurs only.

You must be an employee of iSale.

Actually, I'm an employee of myself. Although I had never heard of iSale until you mentioned it.

I'll go check it out.

I challenge you - Ilja A. Iwas

Hi, this is Ilja from iwascoding.

I certainly doubt that anything you have written in your post is GarageSale's fault. To prove my point, I'm offering you US $250 out of my private money, if you post reproducible instruction within the next 5 days in this forum on how to create a scenario where GarageSale deletes your custom design template. Your design template has to be created following our instructions at <http://www.iwascoding.com/mediawiki/index.php/Creating_Own_Listing_Design_Templates>.

I could do the same for your other claims, but since they involve posting stuff to eBay it is not fair to ask you to come up with a similar description.

Looking forward to your instructions.

I challenge you - averell

Ilja, I'm just a consumer considering to buy, either Garage Sale, either iSale.
So, I really "think free".
I congratulate you for your fantastic reply to vutekman's subversive comment.
GS - iSale 15-0 !
