In May 2003, the author left a comment that he was working on version 3.0, albeit slowly. That was over THREE years ago! In fall 2005 I emailed the author to ask what the status was and was told 3.0 would be out in early 2006. I could either pay for the current version, or wait, but I'd still have to pay the upgrade fee for 3.0. Thankfully I didn't. Either the author needs to let people know on his site or here that Customer Tracker has given up the ghost, make it open source, or, and I say this regretfully, get off his arse and release 3.0 already.
There is a HUGE hole to be filled with these types of apps, and CT in its current state is still better than all the others I've tried as far as ease of use. With that said, it's buggy on Tiger and missing basic invoicing/estimating functionality. And I'm not going to pay for 2.7.3, then pay an upgrade fee a few months later (if an upgrade is even coming), when the cost of 3.0 alone would be cheaper!
If he's stopped or 'slowed' down development because payments have dried up for the current version, then he might want to consider that people generally don't want to buy something that is covered in cobwebs! Even an interim release to show he's doing something is better than nothing.
So please, dear developer, let us know what is going on, and stop saying "it's coming." The phrase has lost all meaning at this point.

Where oh where is 3.0?! - macomaniac8754
I totally agree with s. stevens comments about the responsibility of the developer regarding the willingness to continue to support it in reasonable time or giving it up.I also agree with s. stevens that this app is still the best program for simple tracking and invoicing.
