Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

This programm has a VERY IMPORTANT bug, which can lead to complete reinstalling the OS - it changes the default executable file permissions for all files it patches

Before:
-rwxr-xr-x /Applications/iMovie HD.app/Contents/MacOS/iMovie HD

After:
-rwxr-xr-- /Applications/iMovie HD.app/Contents/MacOS/iMovie HD

Here it is clear, that if you are admin user, you will be fine, but all non-privileged users will not be able to run it.

!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that happens for ALL files/libraries.

IMPORTANT !!! bug - it changes file permissions - nightwol

Presumably running "Fix Permissions" aferwards will correct this.

As far as I recall, I've never seen the behavior that you're seeing, regarding the changed permissions. Well, actually, I've never used the Trim Architecture feature, for that matter. If you're only removing languages, I doubt you'll see this behavior, since Mach-O executables are never touched. Running the Trim Architecture feature could possibly alter the permissions, though this feature can do a whole lot worse than that. (That's why I wouldn't bother running it) ;-).

Run Disk Utility and repair file permissions after running Monolingual, as you should after every software install anyway.
