I have wasted 4 or 5 dual-layer DVDs backing up a set of hard-to-find DVDs for my own use. The software might have a pretty face, but it just doesn't work.
Which would have been a lot more tolerable if the unlock/registration/serial-number scheme wasn't such a huge pain in the ass.
And, unfortunately, I had ass-u-me'd that, like 99% of the software that I own, would work on my desktop as well as my laptop. WRONG. And "customer service" sending email after email with the same serial number (that doesn't work) to try and permanently install it on a different machine has lead to large amounts of frustration.
And, even more unfortunately, the company has "a strict no refunds policy!" Which, to be honest, doesn't surprised me at all. If you are going to be shady, you might as well make sure the customer *cough*mark*cough* can't get their money back.
...and this from a company who sells a software product that makes it easy to steal multiple types of media and games... Irony? Yeah.

Doesn't work AND treated like a criminal AND no refunds? Oh the irony...
