I've been using Bittorrent for a long time now and I've found the official client to be stable, fast and reliable. But in the past two weeks something is just not right. The client is slow, has trouble finding peers and just plain ain't workin'.

I tried re-installing and trashing my prefs file but it still is stinking up the place. I've tried Bits on Wheels and Transmission and - while they are fine clients - they have an unfinished feel about them. I'd like to know why Bittorrent 4.4.1 is suddenly not working. Has anyone heard anything? I can't seem to find any news about the program on the web but I'm going to look around again today...

Same here, I have to keep restarting BT to get new peers, it keeps dropping them. At initial startup it finds them, but the peers will eventually drop off to 0 and the only way to get them back is restart BT.

Glad it's not something on my end with my system.

Thx.

Switch to Azureus, I've given up on BitTorrent, you get much more control and get to see what is happening.

Control click on torrents in Azureus to see details, for example, and at least you are not guessing what is going on.

Often there is just not much traffic for your file.
