I've loved using USB Overdrive with my old Mac for years, on both OS X and OS 9.
But now I have an Intel Mac and I'm still waiting for USB Overdrive to be compatible. Actually, I also tried it on an older G5 1.8 running OS 10.4.6 and I couldn't get the driver to activate. I could play with the configure settings, but nothing seemed to make any difference. Doesn't play nice with the newest Apple Mouse drivers, perhaps?
Anyway, I've emailed the developer at least three times about the Intel Mac compatibility and have not (after two months) received one single reply. Why invite feedback on your home site if you're not even going to address it?
I guess it's the end of USB Overdrive. Too bad, it surpassed so many other crappy drivers (Microsoft? Blagh!) and worked so well for so long.
Maybe he's not making enough money anymore.

USB Overdrive 10.4.5 does indeed work with Intel Macs and Apple's Mighty Mouse. The developer is still updating it.Sunday, January 21 2007 @ 12:56 PM PST

Try uninstalling other existing drivers for your device(s), such as the ones provided by the manufacturer or any thir-party drivers. That did the trick in my case.Reply to This
