I upgraded to Fusion from Suitcase. I was impressed at first, but then I realized that a number of my InDesign CS2 (v4.0.3) files were taking literally 25 to 30 minutes to open. Needless to say, it was seriously effecting my ability to get any work done.
After numerous trips to the restroom and a lot of aimless wandering through the office...(a week later)...I decided to revert back to Suitcase 11.0.4. Ever since, the same InDesign files open in a split fraction of the time (10-20 seconds).
I am running Mac OS X 10.4.7 on a Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5 Processor with 1.5 GB of RAM.
I need to add that I was trying to open files that had been modified by a fellow employee who hadn't upgraded to Fusion and was still using Suitcase 11.0.4. (Perhaps the conflict lies within?)
Anyway, if you are experiencing the same problem, I suggest reverting to Suitcase until Extensis or Adobe get this issue figured out.

Good to see Extensis finally interested - macomaniac8754
With an awesome program, Linotype FontExplorer X, offered as a freeware, Extensis has a real competition or I should say a real threat. With Suitecase at $100 and FontExplorer X at $0, Suitecase should be solid as hell as well as improving on GUI and various font browsing options.
Take a look at FontExplorer X. There are few things that Suitecase Fusion can improve.
I must mention from my experience, both programs has it's small advantages an disadvantages. For me Suitecase slows down my Adobe Fireworks 8 when opening documents with certain fonts. However fonts browsing multiple fonts is faster on Fusion.
As for FontExplorer X, font browsing is slower and crashes a little more oftern from my experience. But where is shines for me is font browsing options and being able to activate fonts for Fireworks which I use on a regular basis. And that is a big plus.
Bottom line is at FontExplorer X for free, FontExplorer X is definately ahead of the game by far.

I too have had problems with my Mac slowing down since installing Fusion Entourage seems particualry slow as it goes about opening fonts that are not activated. It is quite frustrating. Running G4 Dual 1.42 with 1.5GB ram.Sunday, September 24 2006 @ 12:09 AM PDT
