I used the previous version 3.3 and gave the product a generally good review. This latest release seems very buggy and there has been zero, zip, and zilch response to repeated email questions to the developer. As a result, the product is as frustrating to use as it is cool when it works. If I had to do it over again, I think I might invest more time in seeing if I could do what I wanted with iMovie alone.
Bugs/problems include: exporting directly to iDVD, infuriating reversions to prior scrubber position in timeline while trying to edit, crashes while using the photo reorganization window, repeated problems dealing with sound editing.
The manual is complete without being in the slightest bit informative. Terms are used repeatedly without being explained or instructions are simply circular. Here's one of my favorites: "Holding down the key while making any selection extends the current selection to the new selection." WHICH key to hold down is never stated!
So far as I'm aware PTM is the only product out there that allows much more sophisticated panning/zooming than the limited Ken Burns effect in iPhoto. It also allows you to add titles. If you must use this app, I recommend using it only for the photos, then export to iMovie and use iMovie to add sound.

Try PhotoMagico. Much easier to work with overall. I have licensed, and use, both but did not upgrade PTM to v. 4. PTM stays on the HD due to its ability to handle QTVR movies.Reply to This
