Existing users, 
I payed for Proteus long before it became free. I loved the program (and to a small degree still do).
I recently got a MacBook & today tried to use Proteus on it. Proteus crashes out before it finishes loading. In other words it's completely incompatible on Intel systems... Oh well, guess it's time to find a new client...

Poster's system is hosed.MacBookPro, Intel Core 2 Duo, running 10.4.8, runs just Proteus just fine.

Proteus has *ALWAYS* been free... It was never cripled or ever timed out. It would now and then pop a message about sending money to help pay for the time put into it but never ever forced you to pay so anyone that has sent money did so of their own free will. I have to admit i was one of the people that suggested to Justin to ask for seomthing for all his time. He was worried about asking for anything but all the time he put in he deserved it! I created the Proteus default soundset. Congrats to Justin on his move to Apple it will mean iChat will become awesome!Reply to This
