Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 1-6 months

Recommend Product: NO

I was excited to see the Intel compatible version released, as I was tired of going into Parallels every time I wanted to watch a WMV file. Flip4Mac has been very serviceable on my Dual 2.5 G5, but I was without it on my MacBook Pro.

Having installed the latest version, I can say that it has some performance issues. Attempting to play a 856 x 480 wmv file results in very choppy, almost unwatchable playback. I have a 2.16 duo with 2 GB of RAM, and the file plays perfectly in Parallels. The same file also plays just fine on my G5 using Flip.

I notice that it only makes use of one processor, so there seems to be a lot of room to improve performance and optimize the app. Let's hope they do so soon.

Disappointed.
