The game is a bundled app containing the French and German localizations. The patch obviously doesn't take care of localizations (at least French) and once you've applied it, launching the gane on a SYstem in French completely messes up the application. All strings are replaced by generic code (eg: #string_34234234).

The workaround is easy: select the app in the Finder and press command-i to see the info. Disable French (or German if the same problem shows up in German) to force the game to launch in English.
No problem whatsoever in English (except for the fact it's not localized anymore of course ;-) ).
