I copy and paste a great deal into emails and documents. Pasting the style is a useful feature, but many times I don't want the text formatting from the original to be included when I paste. So I can either a) paste it into my document and then spend time selecting all the right font, color, and size options, or b) open a blank text-only document in TextEdit, paste, and re-copy the unformatted text which is ready to be pasted into my document.
With Plain Clip, not anymore. It strips all the text formatting for text *already in the clipboard,* which means that you don't have to configure anything, you don't have to change any settings, and you don't have to do a lot of legwork. Simply copy, launch Plain Clip (I use Quicksilver for the task), and voila: unformatted text that is ready to paste!
Easy to use. Imminently useful. Small download. And free. What's not to like?
