To update to 1.0.2, do I need to start from scratch, reinstall everything, or does the update simply modify a pre-existing instal?

Full Reinstall to update? - telem

No, there are clear instructions that allow you to update your previous installation. However, before I did this update I was automatically connected to the internet in XP and now I'm not -- ouch.
