Having given this app a spin and having spent the registration fee, I'm regretting doing so. Overall, the app isn't bad but it really isn't worth any kind of "2.0" moniker. It's close to a 1.0, but it's still missing features I have a hard time imagining missing from a first release. At first, I thought I could do without them, but at this point, this app will just sit in my application folder without being used ever again.

Downsides I'm seeing:

  • Connecting to the internet to get covers and data is nice, but since you're using an incomplete volunteer-based system, there is a lot missing. Not just obscure stuff - twenty or so issues of Grant Morrison's New X-Men run, for example.
  • Adding stuff is painful. Where is a batch add? where is a batch 'download these issues from the internet' option? i have a long list of books I have, I really don't want to enter them one by one.
  • If there's ever been an app that could benefit from copying the itunes interface, it's this one. As it is, it's hard to find things and it's hard to view things in a series context. how about at least a folder system, or a click arrow to expand style subelement system?

I'm sorry if you don't found what you're searching for in comics organizers.
I'm not an independent developer and I work all the time to make my life a little appreciable and Comics has been developed in my free-time with all the passion that I had.
Feedbacks as yours make me a little demotivated and I can't find energy to spend my free-time for Comics developing new features.
Comics.org (an incomplete volunteer-based system: as you wrote) is, at the moment, the best and "complete" comics archive online and some other users appreciate what Comics does.
I think Comics is a little different from iTunes... and I think iTunes is the father of all Organizers and it's impossible to make an organizer completely different from it.
Thanks for your Feedback.
