I like the concept of this software. I tried it with Delicious Library: it's too slow! My library is about 100Mb. I made a copy of it (the idea was to split the library for different usage), but when I switch from one to the other it takes a long time! It seems that rooSwitch is copying all the files every time I switch! This way it's unusable for me. Isn't there a way to do the same thing without copying everything?

rooSwitch 1.1 was released today and features the ability to set a preference to move the files instead of copying. This makes for near instant switching (assuming your rooSwitch file and the data files live on the same disk and partition)Thursday, September 07 2006 @ 11:50 AM PDT

In a future release (sorry, can't give a date - it's currently unknown) there will be an option to 'move' instead of 'copy' the data. If rooSwitch were moving the files, assuming the .rooSwitch file and the data files are on the same disk, it'd be extremely fast. There are also plans to make the copy more efficient and display better feedback while switching.
If you would like me to notify you when the option to 'move' files is available send me an email at bcooke@roobasoft.com and I'd be happy to send a quick note when it's available.
If interested, the reason it copies is so that you can use the 'restore' feature and also because it's trying to be conservative (no one wants data loss). So when you enable 'move' it will disable your ability to 'restore' a profile.
