This is a beta... Yahoo took 3 years to support Mac since the last Yahoo Msngr and will probably change this from beta to an actual "real" application in, maybe... 3 years. This app is a piece of crap.
No Yahoo Chat Room support!!!
Most chat-friends can't invite you to their cam.
My cam still won't work on Yahoo.
When you get a message from someone, there is no button or "pull-down" to show their Yahoo Profile (Was "Command I" in last piece-o-crap version).
No button to refresh the chat window, so as to get all of what has been typed before (in the last version it was "Command K."
No button to IGNORE jerks who won't leave you alone (You can access an ignore menu from preferences... but it doesn't work!!!)
Can't SAVE anything in a chat window any more (It did in last Mac version)

Crap App!!! - zencho
I'm sorry but when you have been ignored for 3 years when sending report after report ypu have the right to be aggrivated when the new version comes out as such a poor beta.As for the Yahoo! Chat if you have not used it then you would not have seen how full those rooms can get. It is used and I mean a lot. All they had to do was keep the java chat this point would be moot.
Webcam does Not work "fine" hell for some of my friends they cannot see it at all. I always connect fine as long as i initiate the cam invite, when they do and I hit OK they never get the confirmation. When they do see my cam it is for 1-2min and then it freezez on heir end with no change in stats on mine. I used this cam in 2.5.3 and still use it in iChat and Mercury just fine.
as for the ignore button I get a lot of random IMs from people I never talked to (only on PC version) and I am just waiting for it to start happening on my mac at that time I want a button to shut them up. The IMs are from trolls trying to sell you things or drag you to their "personal page"

Wow, way to lambast the app for a few minor nitpicks. Still, I'll try and address your issues:1) You're right, it did take 3 years for Yahoo! to come out with a new Mac version. But that says absolutely nothing about future support. Instead of complaining about this, you should be encouraged at the fact that Yahoo! has decided that not only is the Mac platform worth pursuing, but that this new version is a complete re-write in Cocoa instead of the, admittedly, piece of crap Carbon version that was 2.5.3.
2) Well no, this is still just public beta 1. The last version didn't have chat room support either. And frankly, I'm surprised that so many people are asking for this. I didn't think Yahoo! chat rooms were that popular.
3) Yes they can. Webcam should work perfectly fine in pretty much every case, except with 2.5.3 (since 2.5.3's webcam is broken).
4) Your cam should work fine. If it doesn't show up properly in Yahoo! Messenger, make sure it actually works with the rest of the OS (for example, in iChat). Yahoo! Messenger isn't doing anything special with the webcam, so if it's not working that would imply some problem with the webcam itself or with quicktime.
5) That's actually a legitimate complaint. Feel free send it to the feedback email listed under the Helm menuitem.
6) What do you mean, to refresh the chat window? The backscroll doesn't just disappear. And if you mean to see the contents of the previous chat you had with this person, well, that's because this BETA doesn't have archiving support yet.
7) The ignore list in preferences certainly does work. Arguably there should also be an ignore button on the window, but there's reasons for and against this (for example, you can't ignore people on your buddy list, so most of the time the button would be useless). It's certainly not something to get all angry over.
8) See the note on point 6
