Chax has been a great addition to iChat, except it has somehow disabled any alert sounds. They are enabled in iChat's prefs and the sounds play when testing them there, but when I receive a message, the Chax dock notification works, but there is no sound, and the icon does not bounce repeatedly as I have the iChat pref set.

Once this has been fixed, it will be perfect.

I had that same problem when I installed Chax the first time and it was driving me crazy. So I uninstalled it and installed it again and that fixed it. I don't know what was wrong but maybe that will fix your problem.
