Updating per VTPro

Product Platform: WinNT,Win95,Win98,WinME,WinXP,Win2k

Used Product For: Less than a month

Updating Picasa illustrates the problems I see:

I have V. 2.2. VT Pro suggests getting version 2.5 xx xx.
I download V. 2.5.
After installation, I check "About" with Picasa and
find it is V. 2.2.

When is an update not an update? and why doesn't VT Pro
show an update version number after the update is
installed?

The data I'm getting appear to show that nothing is
updated. What is going on?

Thanks for your attention.

System Info:XP Pro, SP2, etc., etc. System works well.
