I am sure this is just my experience as everyone seems to love this app. I dragged nine 30-minute or less videos in to the window after selecting DVD, hit start and it has said "calculating total running time" for an hour now. I am going to force quit after posting this. If the developer reads this it would be useful if the time was calculated after each video is dragged in as Toast does so you can STOP if you dont have any more room to add more data.

Calculating Running Time takes longer than the videos - tylerl82_dotmac

The key thing about VisualHub is that there's almost always room for more data. The final bitrate used is dependent on the running time of all the clips combined.

That said, the "Calculating total running time" step shouldn't take more than 30-60 seconds unless many of your videos are reporting an incorrect duration (mangled headers in MPEG files are a common problem). It's also possible that the type of file you're converting is unsupported.

What format are your problem files? Do they convert to any other format in VisualHub?
