Two suggestions for your "read me":
* Explain to the console illiterati (a group to which I belong) that your utility can be run simply by dragging the ABGTalkFixer executable file directly from the Finder into the open Terminal window.
* Point out that the user can easily uncover the newly Jabber-ized contacts by typing "gmail" (no quotes) into AddressBooks search field.
