I'm having a problem with the preferences. No matter what I select -- Run as Root in particular. I hit the Apply button, get a Tiger password dialogue box, and FS disappears.
I am particularly interested in FS because it can do actual syncronisation -- both ways like CopyAgent back in the good old days. Most of the feedback here is good -- I just can't get it to work.
Also, I'd like to see a time restricted trial period instead of 40 files. I need to sync. my Users folder and I've had another back-up app. fail the test and another that does it -- but only backs up one way. FS sounds like the back-up utility for me but I'd like to be assured that FS will deliver before I lay out US$ 40.
So, since I haven't been able to run FS, is Run as Root the same as fixing permissions in other apps.?

No, run as root enables you to back up your system files. Without it checked, it can't get access to those files, so it can't back them up.Reply to This
