The only reason apps like this exist is because of a software developers failure to provide an uninstaller program, or at the very least, a readme document that tells you how to remove the program completely and where all the files will reside.
I personally am reluctant to install any software of late if I don't see an uninstaller option in the installer program, or above mentioned readme document.
Is there not a programming standard of some sort that the details of installed files are kept somewhere in the program so that deletion could be standard?

I feel the same, but have found a great tool in Pacifist. In fact, I now never run an installer, until I have inspected its content with Pacifist. Give it a try, you'll like it.
