your main competition is salling clicker.they charge the odd price of $23.95. (as of 5/28/06)
i'd say that, for those without bluetooth on their phones/macs, your app is the only way to go.
i'd say youve got 2 ways to view it: either price similar to salling clicker because you get a similar job done, or make it cheaper to try to under-cut the existing product.
(salling clicker will be hard to beat, feature for feature)
personally, given that users will end up spending $$$ on TXT msgs, i'd say something like $10 or $15 would be a good idea. maybe TXT msgs are cheaper for you than for me.

My carrier (Sprint) gives unlimited text messages for $15/moI think that said .. you have a point .. we will do a few interesting things in the next few weeks to reveal the real value to Sonar ... for example, how about keeping the price @ $29.95 ..bur giving a variety of free plug-ins.
One of our developers has created the first plug ... it allows you to remote control enable/disable your Mac Firewall (AFP, Webserver, ftp) In this way SonarTheater provides unlimited remote control capability.
The existing version (1.5) has the plug in architecture built in .. that is .. this product and remote control ANY Mac application, applescript, or command/tool
So if you are travelling, in today's Mac security model, you have to have your services enabled (for example, Apple File Protocol (AFP) ) in order to remote access from another location/city. This means that hackers can be scanning your open services even when you are not using your system.
With a plug in to Sonar, you can send a text to your home system or server and tell it to enable AFP (remote file sharing in OS X). IN this case, your system is "open" ONLY when you want it to be. When you are finished sharing files with the remote system, you simply text a "disable AFP" command.
Now that is remote control. Add any custom plug in .. then Text your mac! Your Mac will perform the plug in service on command.
Sonar is secure also as it will only resond to text messages from the phone you designate ..
Welcome to "TextYourMac" technology. In the future you will see many "free" plugins pop up all over the place.
