I have been cursing iTunes for well over a month, frustrated with constant crashing problems, usually when going to switch between items to play.. It would crash like every 3rd item I would play.. I was really getting ticked.. This was happening on both my G4 and G5.. I was beginning to think it was Apple's fault that somehow the updates for Intel were perhaps downing PPC reliability.. well, I was happily wrong.. Today I had a thought and removed the OSS 3D plug-in... and guess what? 100% rock solid reliability returned.. DO NOT INSTALL THAT PLUG-IN.. IT CAUSES STABILITY PROBLEMS!!!! (Removing it from your library/iTunes directory and a reboot will cure this!) IT's really sad because I really liked the 3d sound effects that plugin created, but screw instability... I'd rather have a flat EQ than crashing any day. Sorry Apple that I thought it was you for even a moment!
