Great Idea, but...

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

This is a great idea allowing GPS to be shared among applications. In fact we do allow sharing of the GPS between our applications (GPSNavX and MacENC using Notifications), but the requirement for OS X 10.4 precludes us from using this solution. Many of our users are using slightly older Macs and must run OS X 10.3.

Will consider incorporating for a future release of GPSNavX and MacENC.

Great Idea, but... - Robinxoog

If you send me an e-mail through the Developer Site, I'd be happy to work with you on this! I haven't built this for 10.3 as yet, but that doesn't mean I couldn't make such a version... however, I don't have a 10.3 machine on which to test, so I would need your assistance there.

Since I haven't done it, I'm not sure how difficult it will be to implement backward compatibility... and of course, it may not be worth doing, if (for example) your upcoming versions of GPSnavX will be for 10.4 or newer anyway.

But I'm always happy to do what I can to get gpsd more widely supported... and if that means building a 10.3 version, then so be it! Either way, send me an e-mail and we'll take it from there.

Cheers!
