What I never liked is the way they conduct you through the process setting up your RAID. When dealing with many drives (I had about 8) it was impossible to select individual drives. Example: you want to setup a RAID with the 2nd and the 5th drive in your list. By selecting 2 and 5 you always selected 3 and 4 - which made setting up a pain. The drives position in the list cannot be changed to overcome this user interface flaw.

I also missed the RAID5 level which would make the Software worth the price.

I de-installed the software after struggling with its .kext, showing to be not reliable on the long run - I felt pretty much vulnerable and the hassle to set up a special startup CD after every OS X or SoftRAID update was also annoying to me. If you believe to get away by saving money spent better in appropriate hardware: buy this programm.

Can't you just use the command button to select the drives you want? I don't recall having this problem when I had my five drives even back in the OS 8 days.
