They are liars - Roustem Karimov

Tim,

Can you provide a screenshot of this?

There is no code in 1Passwd that connects to any website whatsoever.

Roustem Karimov,
1Passwd developer.

They are liars - dteare

While the term "liar" is very harsh, it turns out you are right that SIMBL calls home. I installed Little Snitch and indeed he "phones home" when it is installed.

I really hate phone home installers, and I thank-you for pointing this out to us. The SIMBL.pkg was included just a conveniece, and we will remove this in the next build - we will write our own installer that will not do this.

I want to reassure you, however, that the 1Passwd extensions to the Safari and Firefox browsers **DO NOT** contain any malware. Our business would be sunk if we spied on our clients.

Thank-you again for trying 1Passwd, and thank-you for showing me Little Snitch -- I will be buying that one!!

They are liars - Tim Haigh

Perhaps the term 'Liar' is a bit harsh, It was a keen jerk reaction to a company that claimed there was no malware or spyware in their product. The fact that a compay claims this makes me instantly suspicious. Then i found the simbl plug phoning home and that made me angry.

You are not alone the simbl package included with other apps such as pith helmet also phones home.

They are liars [this is not fair] - leoofborg1

Guys: This is not quite fair to foist upon this developer. SIMBL is a package developed by Mike Solomon [unrelated to these guys, and the dev of PithHelmet as well].

It's -really- important to be running the current version of SIMBL unless you like inputmanager trouble. If the 1Passwd crew just picked up the distro from Mike on trust then you should reserve this opinion to Mike.

Not all software that 'phones home' does so maliciously. Some devs do care. A polite email to Mike might shed more light on this issue. See his license term #3::

**If you want more from SIMBL, check out the source and make change suggestions. Please do not distribute a modified version of SIMBL, it would make my life a living nightmare.**
