Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 1-6 months

Recommend Product: NO

I ordered Cocktail for my iMac with OS 10.3.9, and after billing my Master Card, they sent me the Tiger version. Of course it won't work on my iMac. I have emailed then again and again asking them to send me the version I ordered (OS 10.3.9), but I get no response at all... it's like emailing into a Black Hole. So I'm chalking it up as an expensive mistake... my advice?... don't order from these people in the first place!

P.S. Anybody want to buy a Tiger version real cheap?

This might sound like a dumb question, but can't you just download the Panther version (do a search for Cocktail on vt). As far as I know, there was no upgrade policy or anything. I bought my copy when I was using Panther, and the same password works in the newer version. I guess a newer password might not be backward-compatible… but worth a try, if you haven't already.

Caveat Emptor! (?) - Andrew D

Customer support should be responsive, but I don't see why you are waiting for them to send you anything -- go to the site and download whatever version you like ( http://www.maintain.se/cocktail/download.html ). Also, if $15 is your idea of an expensive mistake... you are fortunate!

For your info: when you purchase ANYTHING with a credit card and you're not satisfied with your purchase, simply call the credit card campany, explain briefly what happened, and have them take the charge off your card. It's done all the time without any problem. Although it does seem to me you can download the earlier version, if you still have problems, use this route.
