Used Product For: Over One Year

Just got my 17-inch MacBook Pro earlier this week and copied over version 2.5b4. and have been running that one with no problem. But today when I tried to install 3.0, the installer crashed immediately.   
System Info:17-inch MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM OS X Version 10.4.6

3.0 Installer crashes on my 17-inch MacBook Pro - johnsig

Followup: Turns out it was crashing because of items associated with Norton SystemWorks that had been copied over into /Library/StartupItems when I transferred apps from my old PowerBook G4. Removing the following items from /Library/StartupItems solved the crashing problem:
NortonAutoProtect
NotrtonAutoProtect.kextcache
NortonMissedTasks
NUMCompatibilityCheck
SymDCInit
