Of course Skype is number one in audio communication. The quality of the sound is much better than iChat, although you need headphones to get rid of the echo. iChat deals much better with that. But the one thing I guess everybody is waiting for... Video conferencing! So that we can finally fully communicate with audio and video between Mac and PC. iChat and AOL are a not always working solution and if you can use video with Skype from PC to PC, why do we have to wait so long for our version on the Mac? If the audio quality already is this good, I'm curious to find out what Skype can do with the video.

True, but iChat isn't bad. - runmad
I hear you. And I would like the same. But iChat isn't bad. I had never seen the picture and sound in sync and in real-time until I saw it on iChat. If your friends are on a Mac, you might as well use iChat.. I am not sure whether the webcams on PC (USB) are fast enough when it comes to video. Also, I find that iChat does a great job with sound. No echo. Super connection.. I have no complaints.. It's free too :)
But that said, Skype is up to 2.0 on PC now, where is the 2.0 version on OS X?! I am not sure if they jumped from 1.4 to 2.0 on the PC, but please Skype people, don't start get behind on the OS X releases!
