Nice idea, and nice implementation...my only suggestion is for the tabs feature. Would it be possible to make it more like Safari? For example, allow multiple windows of tabs, and keep the "New Window" command in the File menu but also add a "New Tab" option. (Of course, you still would't want the close box to close the whole window, but would it be possible to use a modifier like option to make it close the window itself?)
