Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

The description is very misleading on 2 big points. First, AJAX is Asynchronous JavaScript And XML--not a Java technology. This seems like a kit that connects server side Java to the client with AJAX. Second--and the big one--THIS IS NOT FREE. This is merely a "free" Demo.

Not really free - Ted Goddard

tombovo, you are absolutely correct that AJAX is not specifically a Java technology. What ICEfaces provides is a framework that lets Java developers easily create AJAX applications -- ICEfaces provides all the JavaScript and server-side infrastructure to make the AJAX application work.

ICEfaces really is free; The Community Edition is free for development and deployment. If you want professional support and a highly-scalable server, you should upgrade to the Enterprise Edition, but you can certainly develop and deploy a complete AJAX application with ICEfaces and Tomcat, all freely available.
