On a whim, I installed the new test plug-in on my G4 with 10.3.9. Now the Apple website comes up with a "no picture" where the images should be. I was hoping this VLC plug-in would let me see new QuickTime movies while still remaining with 6.5.2 (I can't update to 7 yet for various reasons). The VLC player plays new format QT 7 files great though... but this plug-in doesn't work for me and it even makes Safari unstable.
There are no directions within the dmg on how to uninstall the plug-in. Which will probably just be a matter of finding the Safari plug-in folder and removeing it (I hope). That said, I love VLC player.

Firefox too - Joe Wheeler
I got the same 'no picture' display in Firefox 1.5.0.3, but after a delay the Apple video would play, albeit broken up and placed too high on the screen so it would obscure page info that was meant to be above the video screen. The stand-alone VLC.app on the other hand is terrific.Saturday, May 06 2006 @ 10:22 PM PDT

The plug-in is either in /Library/Internet Plug-ins/ or in your own user level ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ folders. Just remove plug in, restart your browser.Reply to This
