Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: YES

Much has been said about iSale vs. GarageSale. iSale has a better UI and feels more like an iLife app than GarageSale does. So it gets points there for ease of use. However, iSale is more expensive, requires icky internet activation, and has a super-restrictive node-locked license (no installing on your laptop *and* your home tower without having to pay double!).

GarageSale is fun to use and the built-in template designs are top notch. They instantly add a professional look to any listing. The ability to use .Mac (or any web address) for your photos is a big plus.

The application itself needs a bit of UI polish and would benefit from an "easy mode" to help newbies in step-by-step instruction. Even so, GarageSale is a great helper for anyone who sells even a modest amount of items on ebay! It makes it so fun, you'll be looking around the house just to sell something!

Thanks for mentioning the super-restrictive node-locked license with iSale. I'd been hovering between the two programs, and that one thing does it for me. I'm purchasing GarageSale.

This feedback system of VersionTracker is one of *its* best features. I love hearing other people's experience, especially in comparing programs.

Licensing Differences - Saint Rowan

The fact that you can use GarageSale on your tower and laptop under the same license is not trivial. When I'm away I'm on my laptop and would certainly want to be able to check my auctions while traveling without paying for an additional license. Even the Adobe Creative Suite 2 applications have this kind of licensing agreement (tower and laptop installations).
