I would really appreciate some help here. Shortly after installing Camitools, while I was setting up some toolbar search options, Camino ceased to operate. As an app it still opens, but the browser window just won't open.

the answer is in the FAQ - nadamac

The reason is mostly a misconfigured search engine entry.

Open the Search tab and go to the search engines list.
Please check all of the search engine URLs if there are "&" signs in it.
Every "&" has to be encoded as "&". For example:
http://dico.leo.org/?lp=frde&search=%s
has to be converted to:
http://dico.leo.org/?lp=frde&search=%s
Save and restart Camino. Now everything will work fine again.

You will find more help in the CamiTools FAQ:
