The unique feature of MacJournal was the way it pereformed searches. Mariner managed to destroy this. For me this is the end of a formerly good product.

Dear Mariner Team,I have mixed feelings about your public relations efforts. There is no doubt that CH255974 posted a hasty comment, possibly with the intent to criticize Dan Schimpf's creation.
But that does not get you off the hook from being snooty. Quite the opposite, your website confuses people with intentional language. You mislead that MacJournal is your product, and you even mention this with "We have developed and designed this product with only the journaler [sic] in mind."
With all the laurels that you put on your site, you should at least feel the obligation to comment intelligently on criticism, and not give the appearance of being a hypocrite. So, either take down the laurels and remove the misleading language from your site, or step up and respond appropriately.
Now, I am a happy MacJournal user, and I think that Dan Schimpf created and maintains a top-notch, awesome piece of shareware.
The incident, as minor as you might see it, makes me wonder why I should support a company like you, who seems to ride on the success of one awesome programmer.
Sincerely
Chris Daemon

Re: Mariner Response - CH255974
I agree my comment was rude. I actually liked very much Macjournal, and I payed the upgrade without question. So I was very disapointed to see that one main feathure, searching, was not anymore usable the way it was.For me, the ability to see the context of the search results is critical. All my data is organised to take advantage of that. If I should use the new version, I should probably modify manually all the entries I have.
Another point is that the new version is English only. Before french was supported. This is surpising for a non beta version.

Just so you are aware, Mariner has very little involvement in terms of MacJournal development.Mariner Software
