Dear valued users,
Recently, it has come to our attention that there may be some confusion with regards to our upgrade policy with the recently released Speed Download 4.
We believe the confusion may be related to the simple misunderstanding of what an 'update' means versus what an 'upgrade' means.
Updates are free and have always been free at Yazsoft. For exmaple, if you purchased SD3, then SD 3.0.1, SD 3.0.2, etc. are updates. Updates are like bugfixes.
Upgrades on the other hand is when you go from SD3 to SD4 (or when you go from Mac OS X 10.3 Panther to Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger). Upgrades are available for purchase. Upgrades are major changes and product improvements. Yazsoft's policy is to always offer discounts to previously registered users of Speed Download.
SD 4 is a major upgrade and not an update.
As mentioned on our website and secure Kagi store:
Speed Download 4 is a free upgrade to all those that registered between March 1, 2006 - April 20, 2006.
All other registered users can upgrade for the low price of $15 from our secure Kagi store located at:
http://order.kagi.com/?7NT
Also, should you need tech support, please contact us at info@yazsoft.com. While we monitor VersionTracker frequently, contacting us directly with any questions you may have will ensure a quick response.
I hope this clears up any confusion or misunderstanding.
Thanks to all for your support.

Yazsoft's upgrade policy regarding Speed Download 4 - banana_skin
the point is you know when your gonna do a UPDATE! wouldnt it be better to either let your potential customers know when you expect an UPDATE or widen the free UPDATE window for those that decide to purchase just outside that window NOT KNOWING that there is an Update a couple of weeks after purchase...Reply to This
