Thunderbird does not support the Mac OS X Addressbook. Addressbook is an integral component of the Mac OS that reaches beyond just mail. Until Thunderbird addresses this issue, either by incorporating the Mac OS X Addressbook, by taking over the other functions of the Mac OS X Addressbook or by cooperating with Addressbook in some fashion, Thunderbird will continue to be useless to a large number of Mac OS X users.

Addressbook - zmittie
You, sir, do not understand how tightly integrated the Addressbook is in OSX. It is not a matter of exporting to Thunderbird. That is relatively easy. The issue is that the Addressbook database is available to and used by other applications under OSX. By using Thunderbird's address book, I forego this major feature of OSX. This makes Thunderbird a complete non-starter for me and many other OSX users.Friday, July 28 2006 @ 09:59 PM PDT
Addressbook - rogerpelizzari
There are 2 software solutions to import address books into Thunderbird:1. AddressbookToCSV (worked for me)
2. vCards to LIDF
Good luck.
