I think SD's great, too. Been using it since SD1. But the basic idea behind shareware -- which is how this started out, I believe -- is that you invest in crappy early versions so that the developer can improve the product and attract lots more later customers at higher prices. For your investment, you get future free upgrades.
What Yazsoft should have done was indicate to users of SD3 that SD4 is not a free upgrade and that if you don't want to pay, keep SD3. Instead, they presented this just as if it was a regular update (or whatever), as before. So I like others downloaded, installed, and trashed SD3. Then we discovered that our keys don't work.
Maybe it was an oversight, but it leaves a bad taste in the mouth nonetheless. I'll think over buying SD4.
