I purchased my copy of Speed Download 3 on 16th Feb, 2006 Just missed the small 1 month window to free upgrade...

Maybe Dev should have posted a newer version was on the way so people wouldnt have to cough up money twice (admit its discounted) to support your product... Make the free update window bigger like other devs do... 3 months is a more reasonable window for Supporting your customers who support you...

The same thing happened to me with FileBuddy's move from vers. 7 to vers. 8. Bad policy. My response? I quit using FileBuddy. I am surprised that Speed Download has an equally small window. It doesn't hurt me directly, since I bought SD 3 close to its intital release, but that takes some nerve on the developer's part: taking someone's money knowing you're going to be asking for more in less than two months.

I'm still on the fence about SD 4, by the way. It's new features might be worth the money, if I actually needed them.
