Confusing...

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: NO

Yazsoft site says "upgrade free to all registered users." Since this is v. 4, that must mean for v. 3. If not, for whom is the upgrade free? My SD3 registration code will not work either.

Confusing... - Yazsoft

Our site has never said 'all upgrades are free'. Our site has always said 'all UPDATES are free'. There is a very clear distinction between the two.

SD 4 is a major upgrade and not an update.

Speed Download 4 is a free upgrade to all those that registered between March 1, 2006 - April 20, 2006.

All other registered users can upgrade for the low price of $15.

OK.. I paid for v3, whenever I launch Speed Download 3 now I get a update reminder telling me to update my software to v4. How can you say this isn't an update! My current version (which I PAID for) is now annoying me with reminders!?
I refuse to have money extorted from my wallet ike this. Shame on you, I won't be supporting Yazsoft any further, nor will I recommend this to any of my friends. -5 stars for Yazsoft. 2 stars for the software.

You can easily disable the 'Checking for new versions' from the GENERAL section of the preferences.

Dear Speed Download Team....why, then, don't you put the information clearly on VT like many others? Obviously, I'm not the only one who found this confusing or misleading.
