I use the Yahoo! Calendar for reminding me Events, and my default option is to receive an email reminder 12hours before each event.
If I add an Event in the Day Planner widget, this option is not taken into account. Perhaps a new tab (besides Primary and Repeating) is needed for this, or it should use my default option.
