PF is one of the most stable apps around. If it's crashing there's a conflict with something you're running. Email the developer, or go to the Cocoatech forum to figure out the probelm.

Crashing - tatami--2008

I'd like to second this. I've been using PathFinder for a few months now and found it to be very reliable. I paid for a license and haven't regretted it. It's a great application.
