Not very good

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I just drop a file on DropDMG, and it creates a disk image, compressed or not, of an appropriate size to fit the folder. I was also able to get Disk Utility to do the same (Images ->New ->Image from folder. Select for compression, encryption, and image type (read only, read/write, sparse).

So what's the point of Exces? I cannot fathom what it's good for.

You can create a password protected sparseimage so the data can't be seen, but nothing prevents the frustrated hacker from just deleting the image file altogether.
