Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: YES

i like the amount of control Shiira gives me that Safari doesn't, and the ability to simply turn on my Safari bookmarks is fantastic - i don't even have to use an explicit "Import..." command (importing such things is always at least a little problematic) - i simply turn them on. wonderful.

there are things i don't like too, like the too-small and non-resizeable Google search field in the address bar, the fact that the JavaScript smiley popup panel on brainking.com doesn't work reliably (it does in Safari), and the fact that Command-L doesn't open a new window when all Shiira's windows are closed (it does in Safari, so that Command-L works the same whether a window is already open or not - you never have to explicitly open a window before starting to type your URL). i also find that folders in my bookmarks bar sometimes show disclosure triangles and sometimes don't (i mean the same folder will show one sometimes and not show one at other times), so i can't always tell just by looking which items in my bookmarks bar are folders and which aren't. and there are other things i don't like, and other things i do. i've considered going back to Safari a couple of times, but i haven't yet. maybe i will; maybe i won't. vee shall zee. Shiira's definitely improved of late though. i'm glad; i thought it might be a dead project for a while there.

The google bar - nippithon

is resizable; just clck and drag like Safari. Your arrow problem in the bookmark bar may be a glitch in your particular installation.

ah - i see now what you mean. the lack of any visual indication that the google field is resizable (such as the little circular indent in Safari's address bar) threw me off...as did the fact that i tried dragging to resize it from every conceivable point and none worked. i abandoned Shiira a long time ago, just reinstalled it to test your fix, and this time, after about four passes, my cursor turned into a drag cursor at the appropriate place.

Shiira does need some visual indication of a "handle" in the address bar between the URL and Google fields so that people will know that bit is draggable.
